Former boss Thomas Tuchel was sacked after their Champions League opener, a shock 1-0 defeat with Dinamo Zagreb, while Potter started his Chelsea tenure with a 1-1 home draw to Red Bull Salzburg.

The Blues now host Milan, Aubameyang's former club, at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday before heading to the San Siro next week.

The Rossoneri are top of the group, three points clear of Chelsea ahead of the double-header.

Aubameyang said: "Maybe we will get our first three points at home.

"I think this is really important - if we want to qualify we have to win the game.

"These two games are key and we will have to show character like we did against Crystal Palace on Saturday and win those two games."

Aubameyang bagged his first Chelsea goal in the comeback win against Palace over the weekend.

The ex-Arsenal striker fired home a superb first-time finish to level the scores and go into the Champions League meeting on a high.
