Sven-Goran Eriksson reveals the only current England ace he’d take in his Golden Generation side
SVEN-GORAN ERIKSSON has declared England captain Harry Kane is the only current player he would add to his "Golden Generation" team.
England captain Kane is his country's all-time leading scorer, having netted 62 times in 89 games.
He is now making more history after his huge-money move to German giants Bayern Munich from Tottenham, and has broken a 60-year Bundesliga goal-scoring record in the process.
And Kane hopes to lead England to glory at the Euros this summer, having lost Euro 2020 on penalties to Italy.
Former England boss Eriksson oversaw a fine crop of players, with many dubbing stars like Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand the 'Golden Generation'.
And Eriksson reckons Kane would have fit right in, telling : "If there was one player I’d love to have playing for me from this current England team, it’s very easy, Harry Kane.

"He is a golden goalscorer, wherever he plays and you always need that.
"He's not only a goalscorer, he's a target player, he can make assists, he's big, he's a good header, good feet, he's strong, not the quickest in the world but he's quick.
"He has everything and he could be the one who wins the World Cup for England and maybe he'll be the top goalscorer at this World Cup. Every team needs a player like that.
"It's only one of them, he's very special. I like him and I suppose he will be one of the most important players for England."

Eriksson's England were never able to get past the quarter-finals of any tournament themselves.
The Swede oversaw the Three Lions for a five-year period, taking charge in 2001 and leaving in 2005.
As well as Lampard, Gerrard and Ferdinand, Eriksson also had aces like Paul Scholes, David Beckham and Michael Owen at his disposal.
