Man Utd’s Facundo Pellistri told to ask Erik ten Hag to leave on loan transfer with 20-year-old not in first-team plans
MANCHESTER UNITED’s Facundo Pellistri has been told to ask the club to leave on loan.
The winger, 20, joined the Red Devils for around £10million from Uruguayan side Penarol back in October 2020.
That was after ex-United forward Diego Forlan recommended the ace to his old team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Uruguay international Pellistri is yet to make a competitive appearance for the club.
And he has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Spanish side Alaves.
The ace made 35 appearances with the LaLiga without scoring.

New manager Erik ten Hag did hand him an opportunity to impress this pre-season and he grabbed a goal in both his outings against Derby and Liverpool.
However, that has not been enough to earn him a place in the senior matchday squad or even a move away in the summer window even though he was made available for loan.
Pellistri is now with United’s U23s and with his chances of making his country’s World Cup squad dwindling, he has been instructed to try and force a move away from Old Trafford.
Former Chelsea and Tottenham midfielder Gus Poyet told : “Pellistri will struggle to get game time.

“It would be good for him to go somewhere and play, because the World Cup is around the corner and he is very important for the Uruguay team because the coach [Diego Alonso] has lots of faith in his ability, he’s a proper winger.
Poyet added: “He needs to find a place to play. Look at Luis Suarez who is playing at Nacional week in week out, training with the first team and getting game time three months before the World Cup. Pellistri should do something similar.”
Despite most transfer windows being closed around the world, there are still a number open, such as Greece, Serbia, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
