  • Minutes to go until the Grand Prix!

The Dutch Grand Prix will get underway from 2pm UK time.

Who will come out on top?

  • Today's starting grid

Here’s the starting grid for the Dutch Grand Prix in full.

Max Verstappen leads the way – with Charles Leclerc in second.

Seven-time champ Lewis Hamilton lies in fourth spot.

  • Smoke bomb frenzy

As previous posts have explained, qualifying had to be stopped yesterday as a flare was removed from the live race track, while the spectator was identified and chucked out of the circuit.

Here is a photo of the incident...

  • It's unflair to drivers

Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes boss Toto Wolff fears a Formula One driver could face "lethal consequences" if flares are thrown on to the track at Sunday's Dutch Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen claimed pole position to the delight of his orange army after edging out Ferrari's Charles Leclerc by just 0.021 seconds at Zandvoort.

Team principal Toto Wolff said: "It's a shame that there are a few total idiots out there who don't consider what a flare on track can do to a driver.

"If such a can hits you, it could have lethal consequences. The halo wouldn't help you in that.

"We looked at the camera angles and Lewis was going through the pit lane when it happened.

"I don't know if somebody threw it at him but it happened before he actually was at that point. I hope that the organisers get a grip on it with the security."

  • Lewis on his podium chances

When quizzed about his chances of making it on to the podium today, the Brit added: "I am definitely optimistic, it's just difficult to overtake here - so we'll see.

"I felt I could go quicker, so I hope that translates for the race, but I will definitely be pushing as hard as I can for a podium."

  • Lewis Hamilton is happy with fourth on grid

The Brit has revealed he is much happier with his Mercedes car going into the second half of the season.

Hamilton said: "I was much happier coming into this weekend, to have a car that's potentially fighting.

"But I just don't understand, one weekend it can be so far off and the next weekend, all of a sudden, we're right there. It's confusing.

"But there are lots of positives to take from today.

"If we hadn't had the yellow flag we would have been fighting for the front row.

"The potential is there but I have no idea whether the car is going to be good or bad at the next races.

"It's like a mood swing. Like the characteristics of a human being, you don't know what side of the bed you're going to get out of."

  • Verstappen slams fans who threw some bombs

Max Verstappen sent the orange-clad fans wild by taking pole for the Dutch GP — then slammed the “stupid” ones who threw smoke bombs on the track.

Qualifying had to be stopped as a flare was removed from the live race track, while the spectator was identified and chucked out of the circuit.

Dutch Red Bull driver Verstappen blasted certain individuals who made up the 105,000 crowd at Zandvoort.

He said: “To hold flares, it’s nice, but there’s a limit to how much. However, to then throw them on the track is just stupid.

“The person who did that got removed. Just don’t do that. It’s not good for anyone.

“You get thrown out, so you can’t see the race. And for us the session is stopped because it’s dangerous, there’s stuff on the track. So you shouldn’t do it.”

  • Sunday's starting grid

Here's the starting grid for the Dutch Grand Prix in full.

Max Verstappen leads the way - with Charles Leclerc in second.

Seven-time champ Lewis Hamilton lies in fourth spot.

    Who will be the victor?

  • Leclerc's 'mistake'

Charles Leclerc admitted he made a mistake on Turn 10.

"I went very wide," he said.

And he has a plan how to beat home favourite Max Verstappen at the Dutch Grand Prix.

"Well, easy way will be a great start," he said.

    "P1 into Turn 1."

  • Hamilton's swagger

Lewis Hamilton will start the Dutch Grand Prix in fourth place after qualifying today.

But, if he was being ranked on style - he would have been a clear winner.

The seven-time champ arrived at Circuit Zandvoort wearing a brilliant grey jumpsuit.

While he accessorised with a chunky silver necklace. Check out his look below.

  • Verstappen's joy

Max Verstappen finished in P1 in qualifying for the second year in a row at the Dutch Grand Prix.

Obviously, he couldn't hide his emotion afterwards.

He said: "Unbelievable. Especially after yesterday we had a difficult day but we worked really well overnight, the whole team turned it around and today we had a quick race car again but it was very close but the pole lap was insane.

"We changed a lot, yesterday was a bit rushed in FP2 to get the car together, but today the car was enjoyable to drive."

  • Leclerc overjoyed with car

Charles Leclerc will sit second on the grid - behind rival Max Verstappen - for Sunday's Dutch Grand Prix.

And after qualifying he spoke about his confidence in his car, as well as praised the Red Bull driver.

"It was very very close. Max did a great lap in the end," he said.

"Our car was getting better and better through qualifying. In the beginning I was pretty scared because Max was much, much quicker than those on used tyres. But in Q3, the car came a bit more together and I managed to do that lap which was close enough for P2. Tomorrow is the race and we will give it our all.

"We are much stronger here compared to last weekend, so that's good to see and for tomorrow, I think our race pace looks strong and hopefully it will be close with the Red Bull. We just need to do a great start."

  • Happy Sainz

Carlos Sainz was happy with his P3 in qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix.

He said after: "Yeah it was a clean lap with no mistakes, just missing that last half a tenth to beat Charles and Max who were on the limit out there. I think in the end we did a decent job.

"It is very tough out there especially with the heavier cars, the track is especially demanding on the tyres, we have a lot of overheating and degradation.

"I think tomorrow is going to be an interesting day, there is going to be a lot going even if it's a difficult track to overtake, there will still many options with strategies."

  • Russell's disappointment

George Russell has spoken about his disappointment in qualifying in P6 for the Dutch Grand Prix.

He told Sky Sports: "The car has been feeling great all weekend and I had a really strong feeling after FP3.

"But it just didn't really click for me and I don't really know why.

"Ultimately it was a a lack of performance in Q2 that cost me in Q3 because we had to take those second set of tyres, so I only had the one set available in Q3 and obviously with the yellow flag, I couldn't get my lap in. A little bit frustrating."

  • Verstappen is P1.

Leclerc is second and Sainz is third.

Hamilton will start fourth and Perez in fifth. Russell will line up in sixth place.

  • Verstappen takes pole

The fans go crazy as he take pole...and there is drama on the final lap as Perez spins.

He loses control of the Red Bull and that brings out the yellow flags.

That denies Hamilton, who has to slow down on his final attempt.

  • Leclerc goes quicker

    But Verstappen is flying....

  • Two minutes to go

Final flying laps to decide the grid.

  • Leclerc goes even quicker

This is shaping up nicely. Leclerc, Verstappen and then Hamilton. Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes.

Then Sainz, Perez, Russell. A repeat of Ferrari, Red Bull and Merc for 4th, 5th and sixth.

  • Scruffy lap from Verstappen too

He has even more time to find in that car after replays showed him going wide.

    He is looking very strong.

  • Verstappen takes provisional pole

Quickest time of the day for the Dutchman. Perez is a whopping 0.5 seconds off.

  • Q3 is go

The battle for the top 10. Can anyone deny Verstappen?

  • Q2 is done Alonso is out

The two time world champion is eliminated from Q2 and starts 13th - behind his teammate Esteban Ocon.

Gasly, Zhou and Albon are also out but that is a blow for Alpine, who are disappointing.

  • Seven minutes to go

And Alonso, Schumacher, Tsunoda, Zhou and Ocon are in the drop zone.
