West Ham’s £13m transfer for Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri is back ON after Italian lowers wage demands

WEST HAM have resurrected a deal to sign Chelsea full-back Emerson Palmieri after the player's agents agreed to accept the terms on offer.

The Hammers walked away from a deal earlier this week over high wage and agent demands and were prepared to move on to other targets.

However, representatives indicated that - once the two clubs had agreed a fee - they would accept West Ham's contract terms.

The east Londoners are now negotiating with Chelsea over a fee, with an initial £13million set to be paid before add-ons.

Those add-ons remain a sticking point and are still being negotiated but a deal could be struck over the weekend.

West Ham boss David Moyes has been keen to add a left-back all summer to provide competition for Aaron Cresswell, who may also be needed in a back three.

They are also short in that position following Arthur Masuaku's move to Besiktas.

Emerson, who spent last season on loan with Lyon, would become West Ham's seventh signing of the summer as Moyes overhauls his squad.

New £30.5million striker Gianluca Scamacca scored the opener on his full debut against Viborg on Thursday night, assisted by fellow summer arrival Maxwel Cornet.

Moyes has also added defenders Nayef Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer as well as midfielder Flynn Downes while Alphonse Areola made his loan move permanent.
