Woods, who won Sports Presenter of the Year at the 2022 Sports Journalists Association awards, has left Sky Sports in order to take up the new role.
Former host to reflect on the news, and to congratulate Woods on her appointment.
He wrote: "You may have seen the news about the NFL Show moving to ITV It was always one of my favourite shows to do.
@NorthOneTV were great and @OsiUmenyiora and @JasonBell33 are two of the best people I have ever worked with. They are the life and soul of it… and that won’t change.
"I loved extra second spent with them both in and out of the studio. We’ll stay great friends and we’re proud of the awards the show won, the record viewing figures and stacks of lovely messages we got every week from the loyal NFL fans all over the UK.

Woods will be joined by former NFL superstars Osi Umenyiora and Jason Bell, who are making the transition from BBC to ITV.
The NFL show will kick off on Friday September 9 at 11:30pm on ITV - one day after the 2022 NFL season begins as the Los Angeles Rams take on the Buffalo Bills.
