Ryan Reynolds reveals how David Beckham embarrassed him when he watched his Wrexham play at Wembley with England legend

WREXHAM co-owner and Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds admitted he was left with egg on his face in a recent meeting with David Beckham at Wembley.

Reynolds looked back at that embarrassing moment during an appearance on as he was interviewed by fellow celebrity and Dragons owner Rob McElhenney.

The Deadpool star and McElhenney both attended the FA Trophy Final between their club and Bromley in May with various celebrities in the royal box, such as Will Ferrell and of course Beckham.

The Welsh outfit were 1-0 down after Michael Cheek's opener but thought they had equalised in the fifth minute of stoppage time with Jack Hyde's close-range header - but he was caught offside.

Wrexham fans quickly went silent after seeing the linesman's flag except for Reynolds and McElhenney who were still celebrating passionately long after the referee's decision.

The BT Sport commentator said: "Somebody needs to explain the offside rule to the A-Listers."

Beckham appeared to agree as he looked like one of the few people sitting in the celebrity wing that actually understood what was going on.

Reynolds and McElhenney looked back at their gaffe and remembered how the Manchester United legend looked at them with disdain.

In fact, the celebrity duo admitted they didn't get the offside rule and the Inter Miami owner was so disappointed he shook his head at them.

Reynolds said: "How humiliating... In fairness, nobody understands the offside rule. Please..."

McElhenney added: "We were cheering. We looked over at Beckham. He was just shaking his head."

Wrexham went on to lose the match and failed to gain promotion to League Two as they were later defeated in a thrilling semi-final play-off to Grimsby, who won 5-4 at the Racecourse Ground.
