BORUSSIA DORTMUND revealed that Sebastien Haller's chances of recovery are "very good" after he discovered a testicular tumour.

Haller received the diagnosis earlier this month and left Dortmund's pre-season training camp in Switzerland for further examinations shortly after joining the club from Ajax in a £27million deal.

But the Bundesliga giants' director Sebastian Kehl had some good news as he said the striker is receiving the "best possible treatment" and the doctors are very confident he will fully recover.

Kehl said: “Haller will receive best possible treatment. Chances of recovery are very good”.

Haller shared a positive health update last week from the hospital while undergoing treatment.

The Ivory Coast international thanked the club and the caregivers for all of their support.

Haller said: "Good evening everyone I wanted to inform you that the 1st step has been accomplished!

"I would like to thank [Borussia Dortmund] and the medical team who have been exceptional with me.

"A big thank you also to all the hospital caregivers for their support and kindness."

Reports suggest Dortmund are searching for a short-term replacement for Haller, while he undergoes treatment.

Borussia Monchengladbach ace Marcus Thuram and Cologne's Anthony Modeste have been identified as potential targets.

Haller enjoyed a brilliant season with Ajax shortly after his departure from West Ham as he amassed a staggering 34 goals and nine assists in 42 appearances.
