Cristiano Ronaldo wants £360k-a-week Man Utd contract RIPPED UP so he can join Champions League club in free transfer
CRISTIANO RONALDO has demanded Manchester United tear up his contract to allow him to leave the club on a free transfer.
The Red Devils legend is desperate to leave Old Trafford this summer in order to join a team competing in the Champions League.
United, however, have no intention of cashing in on the Portuguese superstar and are adamant he'll see out the final year of his £360,000-a-week contract.
There are reports that they even want him to EXTEND his current deal by another year - in which case they'd let him go on loan this season.
But Ronaldo has reportedly asked the club to terminate his existing deal so he can pursue a move to a team competing in Europe's elite club competition.
That's according to , who claim the 37-year-old informed the club of his desire to be released from his contract in a meeting with agent Jorge Mendes on Tuesday.

Ronaldo missed United's pre-season tour of Asia and Australia but returned to training this week.
The Portugal international also missed United's behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly with Wrexham on Wednesday, although he was a spectator on the sidelines.
It's not yet known if he'll feature in the club's final pre-season friendlies against Atletico Madrid on Saturday and Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
United haven't prepared themselves for life without Ronaldo, who made an emotional return to The Theatre of Dreams last summer.

And manager Erik ten Hag recently revealed he's planned for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to be in his squad for the upcoming season.
He said earlier month: “We are planning with Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that's it and I'm looking forward to working with him.
“I have read things but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together.
“I spoke with him before this issue came up, I had a conversation with him and I had a good talk.

"That is between Cristiano and me, what I can confirm is we had a really good conversation together.”
One issue for Ronaldo is finding a new club, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich already rejecting the chance to sign him.
He's been linked with Atletico Madrid, however fans of Real Madrid's local rivals have made clear they don't want him there either.
United will kick off their Premier League campaign a fortnight on Sunday, welcoming Brighton to Old Trafford.
