Watch Dele Alli’s astonishing open goal miss from THREE YARDS out as Everton are hammered in pre-season friendly
DELE ALLI has already carved his name on the trophy for Miss of the Season - and it's not even officially started yet.
The ex-England midfielder, 26, somehow conspired to prod the ball wide of an open goal from just THREE YARDS out in Everton's humiliating 4-0 loss against Minnesota United.
The Toffees were trailing 3-0 with just 15 minutes to play of their shocking pre-season friendly when Dele left fans with jaws on the floor.
The former Tottenham man had the simplest of chances to pull one back for Frank Lampard's men - but got himself in a right tangle.
Dele had the goal at his mercy after the ball was rifled across the face of goal - beating all defenders and the goalkeeper.
Alli was in the right place at the right time after a surge into the box.

But as the ball fell at his feet - in the middle of an empty net - Dele somehow fluffed the ball wide.
Everton would go on to concede again as they were smashed in the US.
However, fans were left dismayed as Dele's decline from super-talented youngster full of potential to fringe player at Goodison Park worsened.
One tweeted: "This guy has fallen off so badly I can’t wrap my head around it.

"The type of goals he used to score and now he’s struggling with tap ins? Sad to see."
Another wrote: "The saddest downfall ever."
A third simply commented: "He's finished."
Others were left in stitches at the miss, though, as one joked: "Great clearance to be fair, oh no wait a minute."
Dele joined Everton in January 2022 as he looked to kickstart his career after stagnating at Spurs.
The ex-MK Dons star joined the North London side inn 2015 and was one of the brightest lights to come out of Mauricio Pochettino's youthful revolution.
Alli famously scored a sensational volley against Crystal Palace in 2016 amid a red-hot streak.
The midfielder was also an England regular, earning 37 caps between 2015 and 2019.
But he rapidly fell down the pecking order at Tottenham after that and was sold in January.
