Switzerland squad struck down by illness with EIGHT players and 11 staff confined to rooms
SWITZERLAND are battling with sickness within their camp with their Euros squad having to cancel a training session this morning.
Eight players and 11 staff are claimed to have complained of stomach problems, according to Swiss-German newspaper Blick.
A notice on the team’s official Instagram page states that affected players and staff have been isolated due to gastrointestinal concerns.
And Blick that players have been moved to single rooms to avoid illness spreading further.
Dr Martin Schober, the team’s medic, said: "The cause of the gastrointestinal problems cannot be conclusively clarified from the current situation.
“The symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea are severe, but so far mostly brief.

“Some had only mild or no symptoms as early as this morning."
Rahel Kiwic, who scored in Switzerland’s opener against Portugal is reported to be among the players affected, according to .
Eseosa Aigbogun, Svenja Folmli, Seraina Friedli, Lara Marti, Sandrine Mauron, Julia Stierli and Riola Xhemaili are the other players reported to have fallen ill.
News of players' sickness comes ahead of Switzerland’s duel with Sweden at Bramall Lane on Wednesday.
The team, whose players include Arsenal’s Lia Walti and Noelle Maritz, and former Gunner Viktoria Schnaderbeck are currently second in Group C
