Matthijs de Ligt ‘agrees Bayern Munich transfer’ but Juventus demands could see Chelsea win race for defender

CHELSEA target Matthijs de Ligt allegedly has his heart set on joining Bayern Munich - but Juventus’ asking price could scupper the move.
The Dutch defender, 22, has been heavily linked with a Turin exit this summer after admitting he may reject a new contract offer.

De Ligt still has two years left to run on his deal at Juve, however, he has reportedly told them that he wants to leave after putting in a transfer request.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is desperate to bolster his defence having lost both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on freebies.
The Blues are believed to have already had a £34m plus either Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic offer turned down by the Serie A outfit for the ex-Ajax ace.
Now they could miss out altogether after Bayern Munich joined the chase - unless money talks.

That is according to , who claims that De Ligt wants to sign for the Bundesliga giants but the club may not be able to afford him.
He tweeted: “Matthijs de Ligt told @juventusfc that he wants a transfer to @FCBayern. Juve and Bayern are now in contact. But: Bayern won‘t pay the requested amount of €70m.”
He added: “ know that is also interested in Matthijs de Ligt and Chelsea can offer a higher transfer-fee.
“But Bayern know that the player would prefer to move to Munich if the clubs can agree on a deal.”

And even claims that talks have already taken place and that the Netherlands international has agreed to join Bayern.
Juventus chief Maurizio Arrivabene recently hinted how the Italian side may have to sell De Ligt.
He said: “It's impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club.
“But all the three parties in the negotiations have to be satisfied.”
