Christian Eriksen AGREES to join Man Utd on free transfer as he snubs Brentford stay to join Erik ten Hag revolution
CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN has agreed to join Manchester United on a free transfer after his short-term contract with Brentford expired.
The Denmark international, 30, is set to sign a three year deal at Old Trafford providing he comes through his medical.
But it will leave new boss Erik Ten Hag with a surplus of midfield options – particularly if he signs his number one target Frenkie de Jong.
He already has Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay and Fred on his books – along with Donny van de Beek who was sent out on loan last season.
Even so, beating the Bees to the signature of Eriksen is a welcome boost for United after a frustrating summer.
Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia was at Carrington on Monday putting the finishing touches to his £13 million move.

And United are hopeful that Dutch international de Jong will follow with an initial fee of around £56 million agreed with Barcelona.
Eriksen has made an incredible recovery since having a cardiac arrest on the pitch during a Euro 2020 match in June last year.
He was forced to leave Inter Milan after having a defibrillator – which are not allowed in Italy – fitted in the weeks after his collapse.
Fellow Dane Thomas Frank offered him a short-term deal at Brentford and was keen to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.

That offer and the fact his family are currently settled in London meant the decision to join United was not a straightforward one for Eriksen.
A move back to former club Tottenham would have appealed but Antonio Conte has decided to pursue other targets.
Ten Hag hopes to have five new faces in his squad by the time the new Prem season kicks off in just over a month.
But Cristiano Ronaldo may not be there after he sensationally told United chiefs he wishes to leave the club to play in the Champions League.
