AUSTRALIAN cricket star David Warner suffered a freak injury during the Test victory against Sri Lanka after a flying bail crashed into his private parts.
The 35-year-old instantly hit the deck in pain after he was caught off-guard following Travis Head's dismissal of Jeffrey Vandersay on Friday.
Vandersay was clean bowled by the right-handed spin bowler, with Warner, who was fielding at leg slip, attempting to catch the loose ball.
It proved to be a huge error of judgement as while he went for the ball, which he ultimately fumbled, one of the bails flew into his sensitive area.
He crumpled in a heap on the floor as his team-mates rushed to Head to celebrate his wicket.
The Aussie squad then burst into laughter after realising what happened.

Warner was also quick to see the funny side, as he took to social media following the ten-wicket victory.
Replying to a clip of the incident, he : "Oh dear, well bowled Heady but my Jatz cracker."
Thankfully for Warner, he was able to carry on following the bizarre blow, as he scored the winning runs at the Galle International Stadium.
The New South Wales ace scored ten not out off four balls to guide the visitors to an easy first Test win.

It was Australia's quickest Test victory since beating Pakistan in Sharjah in 2012.
But despite the win over Sri Lanka, Warner's whack in the nether regions proved to be the biggest talking point online.
One user tweeted: "Ball hits bail first then bail hits balls. That's Instant Karma Right in front of you."
Another joked: "Normally the ball dislodges the bail. In this case the bail dislodges the ball."
A third added: "Couldn't of happened to a better bloke."
This England fan quipped: "Great, great shame - hoping the discomfort only lasts a few months."
One then messaged: "Some things will never stop being funny. This is one of them."
