British No1 Cameron Norrie - the No9 seed at the Grand Slam - had just stormed to the first set of his match against Pablo Andujar with a comprehensive bagel.

After a gloriously sunny start saw fans slap on the suncream, heavy grey clouds descended on Wimbledon and the heavens opened.

In side the grounds, the covers came out to keep the courts safe and dry, as the brollies popped up and pitchers of Pimm's rushed under cover.

But outside, eager fans waiting in "The Queue" were given a thorough dousing.

It has since been announced there will be no play until 1pm at the earliest.

But with showers forecast all day until around 6pm, it looks as though day one could prove to be a frustrating one.

Meanwhile, BBC viewers were left shocked after Sue Barker was missing from day one of her last-ever Wimbledon.

The SW19 legend, 66, is calling time on her broadcasting career next month following 30 years on our screens.

And Barker left fans worried after she failed to kick-off the Beeb's coverage of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships - with ex-cricketer Isa Guha taking the lead.

Barker recently confirmed this would be her final fortnight at SW19 after three decades of fronting the BBC's coverage.

The 2022 tournament kicked off this morning, but Barker didn't grace our screens - with fans fearful they might have already missed her farewell.

Barker was reduced to tears at last week's Queen's tournament as she waved goodbye to the Wimbledon warm-up tournament.

Fans were left upset by her absence on Monday morning, taking to Twitter to ask if she'd already retired.

But fear not, Barker WILL be at this summer's Wimbledon... she'll even be on our screens on day one as she leads the afternoon and evening coverage.
