‘I’m the only one that can beat Fury’ – Joe Joyce gives verdict on heavyweight rivals as he chases September mega-fight

Yet his laid-back demeanour and aversion to trash talk means Joyce is still chasing that headline-grabbing leading pack, plus the likes of Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora.
The Juggernaut was set to face Oleksandr Usyk two years ago until the AJ-Fury two-fight deal collapsed, letting the Ukrainian in to dethrone Joshua.

ANTHONY JOSHUA
Joe Joyce: “If by some miracle Joshua beats Usyk, he will have to face me or vacate the belt.
“His chin has gone and I don’t think his heart is fully in the game any more — he’s a businessman more interested in lecturing students.”
TYSON FURY
JJ: “I agree with him on one thing: None of the others stand a chance against him.
“I am the only one that can beat him if he ever took the challenge.”

DILLIAN WHYTE
JJ: “We all know he loves being a mandatory — he was mandatory for about 7,000 days.
“Come and fight me and you get the chance to be mandatory again!”
DANIEL DUBOIS
JJ: “People talk about Dubois with his WBA belt but he beat Trevor Bryan, who was unproven and over the hill.
“He knows he can’t handle my power — he will be worried about keeping his sight.”
OLEKSANDR USYK
JJ: “I’m No 1 with the WBO and when Usyk beats Joshua again I’ll show you how a proper heavyweight in 10oz gloves deals with a man who lost to a welterweight in the amateurs.”
JOSEPH PARKER
JJ: “Parker ducked me. Why would you sign with another promoter if you actually want the fight?
“He bottled it — plain and simple.”
