But Spain midfielder Fabregas has since made just 67 appearances for them - including a mere FIVE last season.

He joined Chelsea in 2014 after a three-year spell with Barcelona, and helped the Blues win two Premier League titles, the Europa League and the FA Cup.

Capped 110 times, the midfielder helped Spain win the 2010 World Cup as well as the Euro 2008 and 2012 titles.

Fabregas revealed in May he would not be taking up a contract extension with Monaco, describing his injury-hit season as: "the worst year of my life".

Now a free agent, the Spaniard will need to find a new club if he is to prolong his football career.
