Real Madrid president hints at new Kylian Mbappe transfer approach but aims dig at PSG star

Mbappe was strongly expected to join Real this summer after winding down his contract with PSG.

But the 23-year-old agreed an extension until 2025, which included a greater say in how the club is run.

In an interview on , Perez was adamant that the chase for Mbappe was not over.

The 75-year-old said: "He did not betray me. Mbappe told us his dream was to play for Real Madrid, many and many times.

"But then all changed in 15 days because of political and economical pressure. His dream had to change.

"I've never said it's over between Mbappe and Real Madrid forever. I never said that. In three years, many things can change."

PSG offered Mbappe a three-year deal worth £507million.

He is now the highest paid player in the world on a staggering £1.6million per week, or around £80million a year.

It is also claimed that Mbappe, 23, who previously took home £463,000 a week, pocketed a mind-blowing £250million signing on fee.

And while Perez clearly still wants to see Mbappe wearing the famous white shirt, he fired a broadside at the attacker.

He added: "I don't want this Mbappe. The last one is not the same Kylian we wanted. I wanted the real one.”

It is not the first time Perez has appeared angry at missing out on Mbappe - for now.

After Real Madrid beat Liverpool to win the Champions League, the Bernabeu chief was probed by questions over Mbappe, who snubbed a move to the Spanish capital to stay with PSG.

Perez told : “Mbappe doesn’t exist, Real Madrid exist, it’s a party for Real Madrid and their players, who have been champions of Europe.”

In a separate interview, he said to Movistar+: "I'm calm and happy, we've all worked hard all season to be able to reach a situation like the one we're in.

"Real Madrid will always continue to work on having the best players, but today Mbappe is already forgotten."
