“July 7th will be the last day with WWE," Paige began in her statement.

“I’m so thankful and I appreciate the opportunities that the company has given me.

“I will always be appreciative of the company that took in an 18-year-old British pale emo girl that didn’t look like your average diva, giving me the chance of a lifetime and making me feel like a superstar.

“I know after my neck injury took me out of in-ring status, it was pretty hard to keep me around for as long as you did, and for that, I’m thankful too.

She thanked the WWE Universe, calling them the most passionate group of fans she's ever seen while adding that she hopes they will continue to follow her on her journey.

She went on to reveal what she considered one of the hardest parts of her departure.

“I think the toughest part weirdly enough is having to let the Paige name go!

"But Saraya is helluva name. Kudos to my mum for that one."

She also gave fans hope that they may one day see her in the ring again.

“FYI I’m not saying I’ll never be in the ring," she said.

"That day will most certainly come again! Wherever the return maybe.”

She signed her note by thanking the WWE.

WRESTLING CAREER

Taking her name from Rose McGowan‘s character on the TV show Charmed, Paige debuted in the ring in England when she was 13 years old.

In 2011, she signed with WWE, but didn't take the stage for the first time until 2014.

She went on to become the youngest Divas Championship winner in history at age 21.

Her career was plagued by neck injuries. She endured surgery in 2016 and reinjured her neck in a 2017 match, which led her to retire from the ring months later.

In addition to her time in the ring, the 29-year-old was also part of the Total Divas reality show, which aired from 2013-2019.

TRIBUTES TO THE WWE STAR

Paige made a similar farewell post on her Instagram, sharing a photo of a WWE microphone on the floor of the ring with the caption, "Goodbye for now @wwe."

Tributes poured in for the wrestling star from both colleagues and fans alike.

Former WWE star CJ Perry commented: "Love you and thank you for everything you gave."

@carmellawwe, whose real name is Leah Van Dale, wrote: "You’re amazing!!! Love you, sister!"

"ThankYouPaige," one fan commented on her Instagram post, adding, "can’t wait to see where the future takes you. It will be magical."
