Anthony Joshua set to earn £100MILLION from Oleksandr Usyk rematch in Saudi as Eddie Hearn confirms 50-50 purse split

ANTHONY JOSHUA could earn up to £100MILLION for his rematch in Saudi Arabia with Oleksandr Usyk, reports say.

The heavyweights are set to fight once more on August 20 in Jeddah, with an official announcement to come next week.

Joshua, 32, was paid £66m for his December 2019 rematch win over Andy Ruiz Jr, 32.

This time around, after he was beaten by beaten by 35-year-old Usyk in September, they will share all earnings 50/50.

Their first fight is also believed to have sold 1.2m pay-per-views, say.

And at the £24.95 Sky Box Office cost, it means nearly £30m was made in PPV buys.

A repeat success would see AJ and Usyk looking at £130m for their fight.

And even though Joshua takes home half, leaving him with £65m theoretically, report he is in line to earn £100m.

It is not clear what will take AJ's earnings up another £35m, but tickets sales and sponsors will also be further taken into account.

Promoter Hearn confirmed contracts have been finalised with an official fight announcement to follow.

He told SunSport: "Thankfully I don’t have to say a "couple of weeks anymore".

"I can say, next week 100 per cent you’ll get an announcement about that fight.";
