VanZant uploaded a pre-training picture to her 3.2 million Instagram followers, with the caption: "You can choose courage or you can choose comfort, but you cannot choose both."

Eagle-eyed fans in the comments saw McGregor's cheeky reply saying: "I can", in reference to his extravagant lifestyle in recent years as one of the worlds wealthiest athletes.

McGregor's reply sent fans wild with general hate for McGregor. One said: "Is that why fell asleep against Dustin? You chose comfort."

Another replied: "That’s fitting to see you in Paige’s comments, two washed up fighters."

VanZant was asked by a fan in a Q&A on her Instagram story today if she had seen McGregor's comment, to which she replied that she hadn't.

Despite her rapid rise, VanZant's name often proceeded her and her UFC career trickled out, although she made decent money and became a well known name in the sport.

VanZant has become wealthy from her mega-money contract with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where she's headlined two pay-per-view shows already, losing both.

She also has a subscription service with Fantime where she sells exclusive content, as well as a high number of brand deals on her social media pages.

The American is currently working towards her AEW wrestling debut, as well as a Bare Knuckle return expected to take place in July.

McGregor on the other hand has recently engaged in late night social media rambles as he continues to tease a return to the octagon.

He has had Twitter beef's with both Henry Cejudo and Tony Ferguson, which he later apologised for.

It remains to be seen if McGregor will return to the octagon this year, although his recent social media presence suggests he's attempting to get his name on everyones lips.
