Sasha Banks called a ‘diva’ after Raw walkout as WWE release statement over her and Naomi’s boycott of main event
SASHA BANKS has allegedly been labelled a ‘diva’ after she and Naomi walked out of Monday Night Raw.
The women’s tag team champions were set to take part in a match involving Becky Lynch, Asuka, Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. in Norfolk, Virginia earlier this week.
But the pair hit the headlines when they left the arena after claiming that they “aren't respected enough” forcing WWE to change the main event.
Naomi had been scheduled to win, and face Bianca Belair for the Raw women's championship at Hell in a Cell but she and Banks were unhappy with the storyline and refused to take part.
A WWE statement confirmed the incident as social media exploded, stating: “When Sasha Banks and Naomi arrived at the arena this afternoon, they were informed of their participation in the main event of tonight's Monday Night Raw.
“During the broadcast, they walked into WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis office with their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team championship belts on his desk and walked out.

“They claimed they weren't respected enough as tag team champions. And even though they had eight hours to rehearse and construct their match, they claimed they were uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents even though they'd had matches with those individuals in the past with no consequence.
“Monday Night Raw is a scripted live TV show, whose characters are expected to perform the requirements of their contract.
“We regret we were unable to deliver, as advertised, tonight's main event.”
Now a fresh report has stated that Banks has no sympathy backstage following the walkout, with Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alverez saying many are universally against the star known as “The Boss”.

He claims: “I have heard zero support for Sasha Banks in this situation.
“It’s funny [because] I haven’t heard anyone say anything about Naomi and she walked out too. It’s all about Sasha.
“I’ve heard it all – Mark, Diva, the list goes on and on. There is zero support for Sasha Banks walking out of WWE over all of this.”
Neither Banks or Naomi have commented publicly since the incident.
Banks opened up about her struggle with depression last year which led to her absence from WWE in 2019.
She spent four months away from the company after losing the tag titles at WrestleMania 35.
Rumours swirled that she asked for her release from WWE during that period due to becoming frustrated with her booking.
However Banks, real name Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado, revealed her mental health was the biggest factor in her wanting to step away and that Vince McMahon would not let her leave.
