Tony Ferguson breaks silence after being released from hospital after horrific KO loss to Michael Chandler at UFC 274

TONY FERGUSON has broken his silence to congratulate Michael Chandler for his stunning victory at UFC 274.

Former interim lightweight champion Ferguson was knocked out in the second round of their UFC 274 showdown with a picture-perfect front kick.

The fan favourite didn't give a post-fight interview as he was immediately rushed backstage for medical checks.

But he took to Twitter early on Monday morning to praise Chandler, saying: "Congratulations to @MikeChandlerMMA on his victory at UFC 274.

"Had lots of fun in there, you fans are F*****’ wild I love this shit! Feels good to be back & hungry again.

"We were just getting started. Best Of Luck In Your Next Fight- Champ."

Ferguson's legion of fans were quick to comment, with one saying: "You looked great in that first round, just got caught.

"That shot would’ve put anyone out. Keep pushing, I was never really a fan at first but I’ll be cheering for you next time out."

Another said: "Thank you for the fight Tony you looked great."

And another said: "We’re proud of you @TonyFergusonXT you proved everyone wrong and we know you can bounce back. Godbless and stay safe champ."

One remarked: "You are the f****n' man Tony. You looked like yourself again in that first round.

"I have no doubt that you’ll be back in the winner’s circle soon. Just glad to see you back in action champ."

Another chimed in: "All class."

Ferguson, 38, is winless in his last four outings - in which he's suffered defeats to Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, Beneil Dariush and Michael Chandler.

But UFC president Dana White is adamant El Cucuy is far from finished, saying in the post-fight press conference: "He looked damn good in that first round.

"But that was a vicious knockout. but I think what needs to happen now is Tony needs to take some time off after that knockout."

The 52-year-old added: "I don't know what's next for him

"But it's not like, 'Oh my God, Tony got dominated and looks like he doesn't belong here.'
