Sergio Aguero’s Man City shirt from 2012’s dramatic title showdown goes on sale and could fetch £1m for charity
THE historic Manchester City No 16 jersey worn by Sergio Aguero while scoring the famous title-winning goal is up for sale — and could fetch £1million.
This follows Argentine Diego Maradona’s 1986 ‘Hand of God’ international shirt being sold for an astonishing record £7.14m .
Aguero’s winner against QPR ten years ago — famously struck in the fourth minute of stoppage time — sealed City’s first Premier League title.
His shirt went into Graham Budd Auctions’ catalogue with a £30,000 price tag two days before the sale of Maradona’s famous jersey.
Now, Aguero's shirt is set to soar in value and may even hit £1m on the May 24 auction date.
Experts in memorabilia are predicting a massive hike in the value of iconic shirts.

The six-time Premier League winner has now been forced to retire due to medical advice, but as the League celebrates 30 years, one of it's most significent goals is back in peoples' minds.
The Sky commentator, Martin Tyler, is almost as famous for his reaction when Aguero scored against QPR in the fourth minute of added time.
City won 3-2 thanks to the late strike goal, a goal described as the greatest moment in Premier League history.
The short-sleeved Umbro shirt has the Barclays Premier League sleeve badges, club crest and sponsor logo.

The story of how the Aguero shirt has come to market is a fascinating one.
The 33-year-old who has retired due to heart problems, gave it to the shirt to City’s kit man, who then passed it on to one of the country’s memorabilia leading collectors of memorabilia.
The multi-millionaire is selling the shirt for charity, with the Proceeds will going to Testicular Cancer UK and the Stroke Association.
Graham Budd Auctions has also waived its seller’s commission, so 100% of the auction proceeds will go to all of these worthy causes.
