WAYNE ROONEY put the disappointment of being dropped for the game against Leicester earlier today to take his seat ringside to cheer on Anthony Crolla.
The Manchester United frontman was dropped by boss Jose Mourinho for the 4-1 Premier League victory, only entering the field in the 83rd minute, replacing goalscorer Marcus Rashford.
But the England man, along with wife Coleen, are at the Manchester Arena tonight to watch Crolla defend his WBA world lightweight belt against Jorge Linares.
The pair were later joined by United team-mate Michael Carrick, with the two footballers sharing a laugh and a joke.
Rooney first went backstage to offer words of support for Crolla, as he was getting his hands taped up.

"Its a big night for him, we are all excited, and I'm looking forward to the fight and I hope he can win," said Rooney.
And on the Leicester victory, he added: "I'm delighted with the win against Leicester, I know he will be delighted and I'm sure there will be a few lads here cheering for him."
On taking his seat in the arena, there was no hint of a smile from the 30 year old, who has struggled for form for his football club this season.
But that soon changed with the arrival of United team-mate Michael Carrick, himself dropping down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Mourinho.
