The United boss has experience working in Austria having previously held the role of director of football at RB Salzburg.

Rangnick was appointed temporary gaffer at United after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was axed earlier in the season, with a view to a two-year spell as an advisor starting this summer.

And he will still be able to fulfil his role with United as it requires him to work just six days a month.
