‘I have already named players’ – Rangnick admits he is lining up Man Utd transfer targets who don’t fit style of play
RALF RANGNICK has revealed he has already sent a list of potential transfer targets to the Manchester United board.
The interim boss will leave his post at Old Trafford in the summer, with Erik ten Hag set to replace him.
But the German still has the club's best interests at heart as he prepares to take on a consultancy role at United.
And Rangnick is determined to help his successor in any way possible, including already pitching transfer targets - even though they don't necessarily fit his own style of play.
He told Sky Sports News: "There might be a couple of players that, independent from style of football or new manager, could be of interest for a club like Man Utd.
"I have already named those players to the board."

Rangnick has urged Man Utd to halt their horrendous, near-decade-long slide and claimed they cannot take too long to catch up to Tuesday evening's opponents Liverpool and Manchester City.
However, he doesn't believe United are destined for a 30-year title drought like rivals Liverpool prior to their 2019-20 success.
The interim boss said: “I don’t think a club like Manchester United can afford to take three or four years in order to achieve that. I don’t think that is necessary.
“It will take two or three windows if you know what you are looking for. If you don’t know what you are looking for, it is a needle in a haystack.

"If you know what kind of football you want to play and what kind of profiles for each individual position, then it is about finding them and convincing them to come.
“Liverpool finished eighth [in Klopp’s first season].
"The year after they didn’t play [European] football at all so the full focus in the second season was Premier League and national cup competitions.
"Then it took two transfer windows.
“But even in the other transfer windows that came later on there has been a lot of very good transfers and signings.
"This is what it is all about. It is not complicated. It is not rocket science."

Rangnick concluded: “There needs to be a rebuild for the future.
"I don’t think [a 30-year title drought like Liverpool] will happen.”
