ARSENAL star Emile Smith-Rowe was spotted in the stands at Barnet - but the Bees lost 3-1 to Southend United.

The England ace, 21, looked to be having a fun day out as he smiled and laughed with what appeared to be his mates around him.

The Gunners midfielder is more used to being on the pitch than spectating but took full advantage of the packed Easter scheduling to make it down to the Hive Stadium.

Non-League Barnet were well beaten in the National League clash with fellow mid-table team Southend.

Smith-Rowe was sat in the North London sun as he laughed and joked with the people around him.

"The Croydon De Bruyne" can at one point be seen covering his face as he and pals laugh in the stands.

Smith-Rowe, who grew up in Croydon, is an Arsenal fan and seemed to just be enjoying a sunny day off watching football.

His appearance at Barnet comes only two days after his team lost at Southampton in a blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four.

The forward came off the bench on the hour mark to replace team-mate Cedric Soares in Arsenal's 1-0 defeat at the Saints.

After the game, Southampton winger Nathan Redmond told fans "they're not that good" when asked about Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Ian Wright offered Smith-Rowe some advice after the defeat, saying he needed to show a bit more composure.

He said: "Look at Arsenal here, Emile Smith Rowe, he really slashed at that, you want a bit of composure.

"You want a bit of calmness there.

"You look at the way he really smashes himself at this. All you want really is to get on that and get a clean contact on target.

"The goalkeeper is still stretching to try and save it. If he gets a good contact then he probably scores.

"The problem is striking. And taking chances. You saw those chances, they weren’t half-chances.

"They were good chances."
