Jake Paul called out for a fight by Sonny Bill Williams after YouTuber named rugby legend on his ‘hit list’

SONNY BILL WILLIAMS is open to fighting Jake Paul as talks between the pair were revealed.

All Blacks legend Williams was named by the YouTube star as one of several boxers in contention for his next bout.

: "We're still locking down opponents, there's a lot of names.

"Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Anderson Silva, Tommy Fury, Sonny Williams, out of Australia.

"So, there's a lot of people on the hit-list, and some other names that we're talking to, off the record."

Retired rugby World Cup winner Williams responded to the comments on Twitter and opened the door to a fight.

He posted: "Looks like I’m on the hit list. I’m not gonna hate on this guy at all as I respect what he’s done.

"I also really respect his skillset as a boxer. But if he wants some he can get it! @jakepaul Yours respectfully - your first loss."

Williams, 36, retired from rugby last year and has since focussed on boxing again.

He is currently 9-0 and most recently beat Australian rules footballer Barry Hall, 45, in one round.

He has been training alongside heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, 33, and contender Joseph Parker, 30.

Paul meanwhile was last in the ring in December when he knocked out Tyron Woodley, 39, in their late-notice rematch.

Woodley had been beaten on points four months earlier but replaced Tommy Fury, 22, who pulled out injured.

Paul added to KOs over online rival 'AnEsonGib', ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37.

The American announced he will return to the ring in August but it seeking an opponent with name-value.

Paul said: "Just trying to pick the biggest opponent, right.

"Everyone I've fought - and I'm not trying to be arrogant - everyone I've fought, I've carried the promotion.

"No one's matched my star power, so looking for that opponent that can match my star power.

"So that's what we're really trying to lock down. Might fight in Australia, maybe the States, maybe the UAE.

"So exploring a bunch of different, really cool options."
