LIVERPOOL failed to leapfrog Man City in the Premier League as the two sides drew 2-2 at the Etihad.
The Reds went 1-0 down after five minutes before Diogo Jota equalised soon after.
But Gabriel Jesus put Pep's side ahead again before Sadio Mane's finish ensured a point for both teams.

The two sides played out yet another thrilling Premier League contest and, as it did back in October, the game finished 2-2.
Kevin De Bruyne put City ahead early on with a deflected effort, before Diogo Jota hit back for the Reds.
Gabriel Jesus' clever strike sent the home side into the break with a 2-1 lead, only for Sadio Mane to level things up just 48 seconds into the second half.
And that was how it finished, with Pep Guardiola's side maintaining the one-point gap ahead of their title rivals.
The two teams are in European action in the week, before they do it all over again against each other next Saturday.
But that clash will be at Wembley, with a place in the FA Cup final at stake.

The Manchester City manager says on the game: "It is a good advert for the Premier League. It was a fantastic game with both teams trying to win.
"Unfortunately we did not win, Liverpool are a joy to watch with all the threats they have up front.
"We performed very well and I’m so so proud of my team.
"We performed incredibly well. Both teams know with seven games left we have to win them all, we’re going to play for that."
Guardiola praises Klopp
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola can't speak highly enough of his Liverpool counterpart.
On Jurgen Klopp, he tells Sky Sports: "He has to know I respect him a lot.
"He has made me a better manager.
"We are not friends - we don't lunch together - I have his number, but I don't call him.
"There is respect - he knows next Saturday, I will try to beat him."
City drop points after leading
Today's draw was the first time Manchester City had scored first and not gone on to win in the Premier League this season.
Pep Guardiola's side had won all 22 games so far this campaign when scoring first before today.
An unlikely meeting at FT
Pep Guardiola had a chat with fellow Spaniard Rafa Benitez at full time.
Benitez, a former manager of Liverpool, made sure he had tickets for today's clash of the titans.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reveals that despite the tension, he actually managed to enjoy the game.
The German says: "We could have done better but we did a lot of moments really well.
"The intensity of the game was crazy. We meet again in 6 days - it was good fun. I liked it!"

"City really tried to use a couple of things - smart runs. There was pressure on the passers.

Jurgen Klopp is giving his post match reaction to Sky Sports.
He said: "What a game. Wild."
The German added: ";A little bit like a boxing fight. When one side put there arms down for a second they got a massive knock."

Here's more from Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson, talking to Sky Sports: "I think we started OK but we were a little hectic at times. Of course we knew we would come under pressure early on, they are a fantastic team.
"I felt we settled down a bit and caused them problems. It's pleasing how we twice came from behind. We want to do better of course.
"You have to keep going, you have to be prepared to suffer. You have to stay positive, stay on the front foot and not give them time.
"It worked at times, at others we can defend better."
De Bruyne - more points will be dropped
Kevin De Bruyne has insisted that more points will be dropped before the season is out.
Both teams still have seven league games left, and 21 points to play for.
Speaking on who that point suits more, De Bruyne says: "It's similar. I know people said whoever wins gets the title.
"But it's too hard, the schedule is too tough for both teams to win every game, but we will try."
Pep in a pickle
This was Pep Guardiola's reaction to Riyad Mahrez's last-gasp chance.
If he had buried that Manchester City would have been four points clear, and the title race as good as over.
