On March 29, 2022, Deidre to reveal to her 58k followers that she was undergoing brain surgery.

She revealed that she needed to have brain surgery to remove a brain tumor.

Deidre's tumor was discovered by her doctors back in October 2021, according to the MLB wife.

Following her surgery, she shared with her followers that it went well.

"Despite the pain which was to (be) expected the surgery went well. 99% of the tumor was removed," Deidre wrote on Instagram.

"The recovery journey begins… Thanks you all again for all the prayers and well wishes during this very challenging time."

Are Deidre and Albert Pujols getting divorced?

Three days following her brain surgery Albert who is a professional MLB player announced he is filing for divorce.

The New York Post revealed a statement that he shared via his agent.

"I’ve been asked a lot of questions over the past few days regarding what’s been going on at home and sadly, after 22 years of marriage, I have made the decision to file for divorce from my wife, Deidre," Pujols said.

"I realize this is not the most opportune time with Opening Day approaching and other family events that have recently taken place. These situations are never easy and isn’t something that just happened overnight."

The couple was married in 2000 and share one child together, nine-year-old Esther Grace Pujols.

The Cardinals and Pujols recently agreed to a $2.5million, one-year contract.

This will give him a chance to end his career in the place where it started.

He has spent the last decade in Los Angeles and will return to St. Louis with 679 career home runs.
