But UFC president White recently revealed his confidence in the American signing a contract extension.

He said the likelihood of Diaz getting a new contract is "very good".

Conor McGregor, who has a win and a loss to the welterweight contender, has also teased a trilogy decider online.

And White was also quick not to rule out the fierce rivals finally renewing their rivalry to settle the score.

He told TMZ: "I wouldn’t count out a Conor-Nate 3. Listen, I’d be shocked if that fight didn’t happen."

McGregor, 33, is working towards his comeback having last fought in July against Poirier, 33.

But it ended in disaster as he broke his tibia seconds before the end of round one, leaving him sidelined.

Diaz posted in separate tweets: "I’ll fight Conor’s dumb ass right now.

"But he ain’t capable now or this year."
