MANCHESTER UNITED players will arrive at Old Trafford this afternoon in CARS instead of their regular team bus due to Covid fears.
The Red Devils are just hours away from welcoming top-four rivals Tottenham to the Theatre of Dreams for what could be a pivotal match for their hopes of Champions League qualification.
But Covid concerns have reportedly prompted club chiefs to ditch the team's usual mode of transport.
Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan : "Believe that, thanks to Covid concerns, Manchester United have abandoned plans to travel by team coach to today’s game and the players will instead arrive in cars."
Fears of a Covid outbreak arose this morning when it emerged that keeper David de Gea had tested positive for the virus.
SunSport revealed the news of the Spaniard's positive test, although he has since returned a negative test.
Premier League protocol states the keeper, 31, needed to provide a clear PCR test in order to take to the field.
De Gea did so and has now been given clearance to stand between the sticks for this evening's match.
Victory over Spurs will see United leapfrog the visitors' bitter rivals Arsenal into fourth place, although the Gunners have THREE games in hand on them.
A win for Spurs will breathe new life into their top-four bid and will displace United from their current perch in fifth place.

Despite Antonio Conte's Spurs blowing hot and cold over the last month, Rangnick is expecting the best version of the north London outfit to show up this evening.
The German said on Friday: "[They play] with a back three and it is a very compact shape.
"They are probably one of the best teams in transitional moments with Heung Min-Son and Harry Kane.
"This is what we have to be aware of and prepared for, to not give them those transitional moments.
"But at the same time, they also lost against teams like Middlesbrough, Wolves and Burnley.
"It’s not a team who, if we play at the best possible level, it’s not impossible to beat them.
"In all respect, if Middlesbrough, Burnley and Wolverhampton can beat them, we can also beat them in our own stadium and this is what we have to do, this is our job tomorrow."
