And Leicester boss Rodgers is ready to offer Brown an immediate role in the East Midlands, according to the in Scotland.

Brown spent close to three years playing under Rodgers at Parkhead, and the pair could now reunite as coaches at the King Power.

The former Scotland international has been invited to spend some time at Leicester over the next few weeks as he assesses his next career move.

It is further claimed Brown has had plenty of coaching offers come his way since leaving Aberdeen.

One of those is reported to be from Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia, where former Celtic boss Neil Lennon is in the hot seat.

Celtic themselves are also claimed to be open to letting Brown join as a coach, but not within the first-team set up.

The 36-year-old would first have to spend time overseeing proceedings in the academy.

Brown joined Aberdeen from Celtic last summer as a player-coach under Stephen Glass, making his first steps into coaching.

But Glass was sacked from his role last month and replaced in the dugout by Jim Goodwin.

And it's believed Goodwin wasn't keen on keeping Brown around on his coaching team, and he also warned that playing opportunities would be few and far between, which resulted in Brown parting ways with the club.
