‘I am BACK’ – Conor McGregor shows off hulking body and boxes as UFC star begins training after horror leg injury

CONOR McGREGOR has started boxing training on his road to recovery and announced: 'I am back'.

He has been steadily progressing while rehabilitating and insisted the setback will be just a minor bump in his storied road.

McGregor, 33, posted on Instagram: "Day 3 back boxing without issue!

"Soon this injury will be a distant memory on my Martial Arts journey.

"No one has a road without bumps - but winning is about a positive attitude and determination and hard work.

"I am back and only getting better."

McGregor is without a win in two years, following consecutive losses to Poirier, 33, the man he initially beat in 2014.

The American won their rematch by knockout in January 2021 before their trilogy ended in the first round following the horror leg break.

But McGregor has teased a shot at the lightweight belt currently held by Charles Oliveira when he returns.

Oliveira, 32, defends his belt on May 7 against Justin Gaethje, 33, and UFC legend Michael Bisping claimed McGregor could KO the Brazilian.

Bisping, 43, said on Joe Rogan's podcast: "The reality is, Conor’s best days are long gone, probably. You can’t stay at the top forever.

"I’ll tell you this, if there’s a person that you’d put him against in the top five to beat, it would be Charles Oliveira.

"Charles is hittable and Conor can still f***ing hit. He’s fast and Charles is hittable.

"I’m just saying, there’s a potential that Conor comes back, beats Charles Oliveira and becomes champion again.

"That is — I don’t think I can deal with the world if that happens. Oh my god.

"But it might happen. He’s still got that left hand, he’s still got power and speed."
