Tottenham already listening to offers for Emerson Royal less than year after £26m transfer after erratic displays
EMERSON ROYAL could be heading out the door at Tottenham this summer - less than a year after arriving.
Spurs are believed to be willing to listen to offers for the Brazilian defender they signed from Barcelona for £26million in August.
Emerson joined on a five-year deal and has made 17 Premier League starts for the club.
But having come in for criticism for his erratic displays at wing-back, he has lost his place on the right flank to Matt Doherty.
The resurgent Republic of Ireland star has started the last three matches.
And he now looks to be Tottenham boss Antonio Conte’s preferred choice in that position.
Doherty, who signed from Wolves for £15m in August 2020, followed up his goal and assist in Spurs’s 4-0 win at Leeds with another outstanding display in Monday’s 5-0 thrashing of Everton.

He capped his best performance in a Spurs shirt with two more assists to boost his club’s top four hopes.
And with Conte demanding more attacking threat from his wing-backs that could be bad news for Emerson.
The Brazilian has registered one assist in the top flight this term.
If Emerson is sold, Nottingham Forest’s loan star Djed Spence could be his possible replacement.
Conte’s side are among a number of Prem clubs keeping tabs on the Middlesbrough man who has become hot property during his stint at the City Ground.
