PUTT IN HIS PLACE

Watch Jon Rahm hit the ‘worst golf shot EVER’ as World No. 1 somehow leave 10-inch putt short at Arnold Palmer

GOLF star Jon Rahm was left embarrassed after missing a 10-inch putt at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The World No1 gave himself the simplest of putts to finish off the hole with a par.

And he only nudged the ball one inch, leaving the putt frustratingly short of the hole

But in a remarkable moment Rahm decelerated on his follow-through and ended up knocking the ball just one inch.

It meant he needlessly shot a bogey in a frustrating and bizarre moment from the 2021 US Open champion.

Speaking after his round, the Spaniard said: “I wish I could give you all the excuses in the world.

“It just didn’t feel good in my hands, and I tried to stop, and I didn’t.

“I just simply didn’t stop. I don’t know. It was very odd.”

It was the shortest missed putt of his PGA Tour career.

And it meant he finished the day on two-under par for the tournament so far – seven shots behind Norwegian leader Viktor Hovland.

Reacting to the incredible miss, one social media user said: “Bet he was fuming for the rest of the day after that.”

Another startled fan added: “Jon Rahm just hit the worst putt in golf history.”

And a third said: “I can’t even watch that Rahm putt again. Makes me feel anxious.”
