John Terry responds to Conor McGregor’s claim he is interested in buying Chelsea with cryptic tweet
JOHN TERRY has responded to Conor McGregor's claims that he wants to buy Chelsea from Roman Abramovich with a cryptic tweet.
UFC legend McGregor made the outlandish declaration after Blues owner Abramovich announced he was putting the club up for sale following his native Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Upon Abramovich's announcement, several interested parties - including Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss - expressed their desire to acquire the Blues, but only if Abramovich lowered his asking price to £2billion.
More surprisingly, Irish UFC icon McGregor also threw his hat in the ring to buy the club and wrote on Twitter: "I wish to explore this. @ChelseaFC."
McGregor then upped the ante by sharing a hilarious animation of him in the Blues' hot-seat.
Blues legend Terry caught wind of McGregor's desire to buy his beloved Chelsea - and let the Irishman know what he thought under his satirical impression as the club's boss.
One thing Terry did make clear though was the fact that he was sad to see Abramovich leave the club.
Upon hearing Abramovich's decision to sell, Terry lauded the Russian billionaire as the "The Best."
The Kremlin's decision to lay siege to Ukraine has caused rage across the globe.
And Blues owner Abramovich came under fire for his close ties to Russia's leader Vladimir Putin.
There were calls for Abramovich to be sanctioned for his chummy bond with Putin - leading the oligarch to choose to offload Chelsea which he's owned for just under two decades for £3billion.
In a bid to sweeten the deal, Abramovich also revealed that the proceeds from the sale will go to victims of the war.
