How Chelsea and Liverpool looked when they last met in League Cup final with Drogba and Kezman scoring in five-goal epic

It's been 22 years since the last time Liverpool and Chelsea met in the League Cup Final.

The two Premier League giants are set to lock horns this Sunday at Wembley Stadium in the rebranded Carabao Cup Final.

And the Reds will be looking for some revenge as they lost 3-2 to the Blues in an absolute thriller at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff back in 2005.

John Arne Riise opened the scoring for the Merseysiders inside 45 seconds in the then Carling Cup Final.

But the West Londoners equalised following an own goal by Liverpool's legendary captain Steven Gerrard after 79 minutes, which took the game to extra-time.

Didier Drogba gave Chelsea the lead on 107 minutes and Mateja Kezman sealed the club's victory just a minute before Antonio Nunez scored the Reds' second in the 113th minute.

Then Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez opted for a 4-4-2 formation, just three months before leading the Merseysiders to Champions League glory in Istanbul.

Jerzy Dudek started in goal with Steve Finnan at right-back and Djimi Traore on the other side, while Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia teamed up at centre-back.

Luis Garcia covered the right flank with Riise on the other side, while skipper Gerrard and Dietmar Hamann linked up in midfield.

Harry Kewell and Fernando Morientes led the attack for Benitez's side.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who was sent off on 80 minutes, chose a 4-3-3 formation that day.

Petr Cech started in goal with Paulo Ferreira at right-back and William Gallas on the other side, while Ricardo Carvalho and captain John Terry linked up at centre-back.

Jiri Jarosik, Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele teamed up in midfield.

Joe Cole, Damien Duff and Drogba led Mourinho's attack in Wales.
