Man Utd ‘to rival Bayern Munich and Barcelona in Matthijs de Ligt transfer battle with 22-year-old wanted from Juventus’

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly interested in signing Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus in the summer.

According to Calciomercato.com the Red Devils have joined Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the race for the centre back.

The Italian outlet said: “Juventus is preparing for a summer in which Matthijs de Ligt will be considered as one of the most valuable pieces in the market.”

Ralf Rangnick is keen to bring in another defender to increase his team’s chances of challenging for silverware.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are looking for someone to replace Niklas Sule, whose contract expires in June.

The 22-year-old Dutch international joined Juventus from Ajax in 2019 for a fee of around £67.8million..

He has made 98 appearances overall for Juventus and has scored six goals.

Despite being highly regarded as one of Europe’s best young defenders, his experience in Turin so far has not always been positive.
