ON HIS WAY?

Divock Origi in three-way transfer tussle with Liverpool striker wanted by Burnley, Fiorentina and Atalanta

LIVERPOOL’S forgotten man Divock Origi is at the centre of a three-club tug-of-war, with Italian giants Fiorentina and Atalanta taking on Burnley.

The Belgium international, 26, who has had limited opportunities at Anfield this season, can go before the window closes if the right offer comes in after the late interest at home and abroad.

Fiorentina are keen to make Origi the spearhead of their attack after selling Dusan Vlahovic to Juventus, leaving his Premier League fan club disappointed. They have already spoken to his agent about a move now or in the summer.

Atalanta have made their interest known, too, as they wait on offers for hotshot Duvan Zapata. They could also come up with a deal that works.

And Burnley are back in the chase after hitting snags with their bid to land Dutch striker Wout Weghorst from German side Wolfsburg.

Weghorst flew into Manchester but left unsigned and talks faltered — despite Clarets boss Sean Dyche hoping he would agree and get a work permit.

Burnley are also waiting on Aaron Ramsey making a last-minute change of heart to join them on loan.

Juventus’ Welsh midfielder has been stalling on the move for over a month as he waits on Crystal Palace and Newcastle to come in for him.

The chances of those deals are fading — and the Clarets are willing to pay around £75,000 a week towards his wages.

Burnley have funds available after selling Chris Wood to Newcastle for £25million earlier this month.

The club is battling Newcastle to sign Dele Alli on loan - Everton also have an interest in the Tottenham outcast.
