But those who attended the bash last weekend were shocked to discover that the couple had in fact tied the knot.

The location of the wedding reception remains undisclosed, but Anderson broke the news to the world by sharing two snaps of him and his blushing bride in her dress.

He captioned them on Twitter with: “That’s it the old ball & chain now @fordey180 thanks to everyone that made the party last night hope you enjoyed it!”

Former world champion Adrian Lewis was among the first to respond, commenting: “Huge congratulations to you both.”

Former pro darts player Jamie Caven also replied: “Congrats to you both! Love from myself and @CavenDebbie.”

Anderson, a two-time PDC World Champion, and Rachel have been together for several years.

Anderson also has two sons from a previous marriage.

This news comes after fellow star Peter Wright swapped world crowns for wedding gowns as the ‘Big Sid’ World Championship trophy took centre stage on his daughter’s big day.

The showman Scot ushered in his latest darts reign in a kilt as father of blushing bride Naomi at Southwood Hall in Norwich last weekend.

It was the second time in a month that confetti had showered Snakey after he won his second world title on the Ally Pally stage, beating Michael Smith 7-5 in the final.

The family then celebrated with the trophy - named after legendary commentator Sid Waddell - sitting proudly on the top table with Snakebite, bride and groom.
