Family of legendary Manchester United manager Sir Matt Busby kicked out of directors’ box on match days
A gold plaque on the late Sir Busby's seat has also been removed
MANCHESTER United have kicked Sir Matt Busby’s family out of the directors’ box on match days.
Fans who revere ex-manager Sir Matt and still chant his name 22 years after his death will be furious to discover a gold name plaque on his seat has also been removed.
A source said: “When Sir Alex Ferguson was here he was keen to make Sir Matt’s son, daughter and seven granddaughters part of modern-day United.
“But in recent years the Busby legacy seems to have faded.
“The powers that be said it’s time the club ‘moved on’ and it has started with the removal of the tickets in the directors’ box for four family members.”
Sir Matt’s son and daughter are now dead but the move means access to the box has been withdrawn for his seven granddaughters. Some of the family are devastated.
