A fee of around £25.6million has been agreed between the two La Liga clubs, with the Spanish international having put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

He also has an £85m buyout clause written into his contract.

Alcacer was left out of Valencia's 1-0 win against Eibar on Saturday, with his manager Pako Ayestaran claiming he wasn't in the right frame of mind to play.

Spanish news-site reports that Alcacer will not be officially unveiled to the fans until after Spain's 2018 World Cup Qualifying game against Liechenstein on September 5.

Speaking to the club's official , Alcacer said: "The truth is I'm really happy, I'd just like to thanks all the clubs I've been at, they made it possible for me to be here.

"I am very excited to start this new stage of my career. I will try and do my best, work hard and be humble and be professional.

Alcacer made his debut for Valencia in 2010, and in his development he was loaned out for the 2012/13 season to Getafe.

Surprisingly, despite being Spain's top-scorer in the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, Alcacer was left out of Vicente del Bosque's squad for the competition - and of course Spain were dumped out in the group stages.
