However, with Luke Shaw now back to full fitness, boss Jose Mourinho has allowed the hot prospect to head out on loan and gain more experience.

Manchester United fans may consider loaning out one of their starlets as a bit of a risk. Mourinho has not seemed keen on Marcos Rojo or Matteo Darmian, and if these are sold, United would be short of cover for Shaw.

In what was a testing season for the Red Devils, Borthwick-Jackson emerged as one of their shining lights after making his debut against West Brom in November.

He has been capped all the way up to England U19 level, and was named as United's reserve team player of the season for 2015/16.

Borthwick-Jackson is expected to feature for Wolves in their EFL Cup tie against Cambridge United tomorrow (Tuesday).
