Deontay Wilder’s trainer sensationally reveals Bronze Bomber suffered BROKEN HAND in thrilling Tyson Fury trilogy defeat

DEONTAY WILDER'S trainer Malik Scott has revealed that the Bronze Bomber broke his hand during last night's defeat to Tyson Fury.

The American, 35, floored the Gypsy King twice in the fourth round, only to later be knocked out in the penultimate stanza of an instant classic.

after the bout, cornerman Scott revealed that Wilder had come out of the fight with a number of injuries.

He said: "I took him up into his room, he's seen a doctor afterwards.

"Everything's cool... he busted his lip, he broke his hand, broke his finger, knuckle, something like that.

"But life goes on."

Wilder was subsequently taken to hospital for routine checks, although did not have to stay overnight.

After the bout, a philosophical Bronze Bomber admitted: "I did my best, but it wasn’t good enough tonight. I’m not sure what happened.

"I know that in training he did certain things, and I also knew that he didn’t come in at 277 pounds to be a ballet dancer.

"He came to lean on me, try to rough me up and he succeeded."

Reflecting on the trilogy, Scott admitted that he wants Wilder to take a long break from boxing.

He said: "I really don't want Deontay talking about boxing or doing anything with boxing for quite some time.

"I want him to get some good rest, especially after this.

"Even after the last fight he was so worked up. So worked up over the time, and in training and was so excited and so happy to win the arbitration.

"He really never got to rest, he deserved a good rest. I'm gonna make sure he gets it."
