Phil Taylor back in darts and live on BBC for the World Senior Championships in February 2022
PHIL TAYLOR will play world darts on the BBC for the first time in 29 years.
The Power – the sport's greatest star with 16 world titles – will be the headline name for the inaugural JenningsBet World Seniors Darts Championship in February 2022.
The BBC will show the Circus Tavern event live solely across its digital platforms and iPlayer.
The last time Taylor, 61, played on the Beeb at the highest level was when he lost as defending champion in the second round of the 1993 Lakeside BDO worlds before the acrimonious switch to the PDC.
The first World Seniors event, which will feature 24 of the sport's legends, will be presented by Ray Stubbs.
It will also feature darts nut and former Soccer AM host Helen Chamberlain acting as a roving reporter.
We revealed in April how Taylor was set to come out of retirement in a bid to win a 17th world darts title in 2022.
The Power quit the PDC circuit in January 2018.
