Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribery, 38, eyeing Hellas Verona free transfer after being released by Fiorentina
FRANCK RIBERY could be continuing his career in Italy’s top-flight with Hellas Verona reportedly pondering a swoop for the player.
The veteran midfielder is currently a free agent after parting company with Fiorentina at the end of last season.
Ribery, who turns 40 in two years, looked to be coming towards the end of his journey as a player in football’s top leagues.
And the playmaker, who won nine Bundesliga titles during a 12-year spell at Bayern Munich, looked set to join the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Jack Wilshere on the free agent list.
However, Sky Italia claims the former Bayern Munich star, 38, is keen to make a move to Verona in what could potentially be his final stint in Italy’s top tier.
It is claimed Verona had a fairly eventful transfer deadline day having offloaded Mattia Zaccagni to Lazio.
And reports in Italy reckon they seem to have replaced the attacking midfielder with Gianluca Caprari on loan from Sampdoria.
Ribery, who has won 28 major trophies including a Champions League title, enjoyed a fruitful two-year stint at Fiorentina.

The Serie A veteran notched up five goals and provided 10 assists for the Italian side who play Atalanta next.
However, the former Les Bleus ace saw his stint in Florence hampered by injury problems with muscle and knee issues forcing him out of action.
And the player missed 12 Serie A games on the bounce following an ankle operation last term.
Ribery, who is a three-time footballer of the year in France and Germany, was considered to be one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe between 2007 and 2014.
He netted 124 goals in 425 appearances for Bayern Munich between 2007 and 2019.
