PREMIER League striker Danny Ings has been fined £220 for speeding in his Bentley - the equivalent of just four minutes of work.

The Aston Villa star, who earns £120,000 a week after a £25 million move from Southampton this summer, was caught hitting an average speed of 60mph in a temporary 50mph zone.

Ings was clocked in his £130,000 2021 Bentley Bentayga V8 Auto on the M27 near Winchester, Hampshire, in the early hours of February 3 this year.

The luxury SUV is fitted with a four litre twin turbo V8 engine capable of producing 542 horsepower.

It can go from 0 to 60mph in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 180mph.

Ings, a former Liverpool forward from Hampshire, was found guilty in his absence by a magistrate in a single justice procedure hearing behind closed doors on August 25.

The 29-year-old gave no plea and no submissions were made on his behalf.

The footballer, who has made three appearances for England, was handed a £220 fine.

He will need to work for just 4.4 minutes in order to pay it, based on him working a 40-hour week.

Ings must also pay £90 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

In court papers, police case officer Angela Todd said: "A conditional offer of a fixed penalty was sent on (April 9).

"The defendant has failed to comply with the requirements of these disposal options."

Ings was caught speeding in a temporary 50mph zone between junctions four and 11, where Highways England’s £244million work to create a smart motorway is due to be completed in spring next year.

Average speed cameras are installed along the stretch, and more than 10,000 drivers were caught speeding on this section last year, according to police figures.
