GETTY IMAGES VIEIRA REACTS
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira admits there is a lot of work to be done after the loss at Chelsea.
Vieira told Sky Sports: “We had the game we expected - a difficult one. We tried to frustrate them but the free-kick made it difficult.
“We knew what we are missing before the game and it shows we have a lot of work to do. We defended well at times but when we got the ball we lost it straight after. That is a frustration.
“Any team who comes to Stamford Bridge will suffer. Chelsea were by far the better team. We will analyse and improve”
GETTY IMAGES TUCHEL REACTS
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was very impressed with Trevoh Chalobah and confirmed "there is still a place for homegrown talent" in his team.
Tuchel told Sky Sports: “We had extra time on Wednesday, it was very hot today but we absolutely wanted to win and we deserved it. The guys put in a lot of effort and we could control the game. We looked as sharp as possible, we were close to 100 per cent for today.
“We are very tired now which is how it should be and how they should feel. Things can go in another direction, we needed big effort this week. The league is super demanding but the guys went close to the limit.
“Trevoh [Chalobah] has had two fantastic games, he is a very humble guy from the academy, he plays full of confidence. It was a perfect afternoon for him. You can see everyone celebrates with him, these are the stories we all love. There are lots of big players in the league but there is still a place for homegrown talent, especially at our club. That will never change.
“Marcos Alonso is a very solid player, he had a personal pre-season, he started very early and we trust him”
